Hi, ok so i will be going back to the Philippines (for college) this May 2, but my passport expiration date is May 17. My parents ask what to do about it at the embassy and they told my parents that it is still not sure if i will be allowed to leave qatar since 'i have to renew my passport 6 months before'. I dont know whats going on. Can you help me with what to do with it? will i be allowed to go back to the philippines?

p.s im going to show this to my parents, please help me.

You can exit from qatar and enter to phillipines before 24 hours expiry of your passport. No issues in that. You can renew passport in your country again. If you wish you can renew in Doha also. Only the immigration will not allow if you travel after your passport expires. Same case i see everyday

you can extend the validity of your passport in Philippine embassy and pay appropriate fees. no issues about it as long your RP is still valid. Don't travel if your RP is about to expires.

@Wilyen its a universal travel fact that for travel the passport must have a validity of atleast 6 months before expiring (unless in extreme humanitarian cases) Plus you to renew the passport here will be easier and simplified than renewing in your home country for sure. So start the process asap, also inquire with the embassy whether there is any option for fast track process which will cost you slightly higher (must be available) Best of Luck !! and don't take chances with airlines.

I agree with acchabaccha. 6 months validity is required when leaving your base country (philippines). You have an option either renew your passport here (embassy) or in the philipines.

@wilyen, There will be no issue on leaving and in regards of passport renewal, you can extend the validity of your passport for one year, which is I'm quite surprise our embassy didn't even inform you....but well of course, it's the government's way of same old games. Good luck dude.

To my knowledge, there should be no problems in your leaving Qatar. A six month validity of passport is required at the time of stamping of visa or renewal of RP. Suggest you call your your embassy and confirm from them.

Is there any problem in Passport Renewal at the embassy? You have still 2 weeks time.
