I am still new in qatar, I have been here since November 2016. I work in a hotel.

At first I enjoyed work and living here but then my family call and inform that my father is sick in hospital, and no one take care my family business there.

I need to go home, what should I do I am still in probation period so they don't allow me to vacation or go home, and my money won't cover all the fine from my resignation.

Should I make myself terminated? But how?

And because of these family case I don't t know if I'll be able to work overseas again

Really need your help guys

@britexpat

Are you sure that was written in qatar labour law? Could you tell which article is that? It will help me so much

As an aside - I don't believe that any religion says that picking a fight / disagreeing with your employer is a sin

As per the Labour Law , you don't have to pay anything during the probation period

Go and speak to the human rights commission

The best advice I can give you as of now is not to listen to the two "philosophers" who regularly post their comments at QL. One of them is yet to comment. When he does write, he will be asking you to think over the issue for "three days" before taking an action. He may also advise to take the Director of your company to dinner and then talk to him then when his mood would be good..

Just take your own decisions as you know the situation better than anyone else.

Picking a fight with your own Guardian / Sponsor is a sin I would say. ............ Yes, There is a way , there is a solution for each & every difficulty in this world but it would need an equally worthy sacrifice my pal. .... ... You need to be Honest otherwise you won't be able to take any decision my pal. You need to weigh what are you going to loose & what are you going to gain out of this situation my pal. ........ You are very close to that my pal ................. but too tough to see ....... .....

While I don't believe this could be imposed on you, try seeking advice from other sources such as Sheen Services. They should be able to guide you better.

@acchabaccha

Because its stated that I have to refund the company amount of investment in my appointment if I resign before the contract end

So if I resign I don't t think I can cover all the money.

I don'tn t think I can go back to Qatar for a while

At first, try to convince your HR people of the urgency and that your need to return home. If they still refuse to consider, then send them your resignation by email. Possibly they may still not consider your resignation. You may then approach Human Rights Committee and if the matter does not get resolved there, approach the Labour Office which should help sort out the matter.

Why will there be a fine if you resign? This sounds somewhat unusual to me.
