need advice on how to ship goods from US to qatar here
By sunmike065 •
Can someone pls elite me on the easiest snd cheapest carrier company to ship goods from US to qatar here and presedure on how to recieve them. hope to get feedback from you guys.
Shipping stuff from the US to Qatar is actually pretty easy if you pick the right carrier. I've tried a few, like UPS and DHL, but honestly, the best experience I had was with DocShipper Qatar.
They handled everything when I needed to send some goods over. They picked up my stuff when I was in Canada, took care of all the customs paperwork, and delivered it right to my door in Qatar. It saved me a lot of headaches.
And to answer you second question, when your shipment gets to Qatar, you’ll just need to pay any customs fees, and then you’re good to go. The carrier or a delivery service will bring your stuff to your place.
Hope that helps!

We have just done similar with our household items.
It helps to use a reputable shipping agent who will come and put your posessions in a crate or storage container and handle all the transport details at doth ends of the transport.
They will use someone local on Doha for the arrival leg as you will need to go to their office with documents and paperwork etc including a letter of non objection written in Arabic from your employer for the customs clearance, they will tell you what you need at this end.
It is best to get a reputable company to pack and seal the box / container as there must be a manifest of every item being shipped.
There are many things you may class as strange which are not allowed such as Porn, movies / DVD's depicting war opiate type drugs unless they have a doctors prescription with them and of course the usual things like alcohol, pork products etc.
No batteries in equipment, no acid in lead acid batteries etc etc.
All this information should be given to you before booking the shipper but you may have to fight for the specific information from them unless you have booked & paid for it.
Shipping from the UK was around 6 weeks and at a cost of about £1800 GBP for a crate 2m tall x 2m wide and 1m deep approx.
It was opened by customs for inspection before it was released to us.
Our Doha leg was handled by Tokyo Freight who took a couple of calls to get them moving but was straightforward enough.
There are some options depending on what are the goods thaf you've wanted to bring here in Qatar.
You can use USPS for light and not that much urgent this would be the cheapest option but it would take around 6 to days. 2nd options is via aramex. You have to make a membership for 165qr and you would be entitled for 8accounts from different country. . And of course the fastest way but a bit costly is via fedex, UPS and DHL.
