Need Advice

Hi Everybody,

I am just wondering if following situation is normal, or if i am just spoiled of on time events...

End of Sep i was invited for an interview with a destination managment company. During the Interview i was told to prepare to set up for end of october. Middle of october the hire date was postponed to beginning of december, because of eid al fitr and because the immigration office was closed for a few days.
Attached to the email was a job offer letter, which was not signed by the CEO of the company, because he wasn´t in the office for a few days and i was told i will get the signed job offer letter on oct 24. On that date i didn´t receive an email from that company, so i asked them to remind me. I was asked to be patient until the next day, because oct 24 was the first days of the CEO back in company and had a lot of papers to clean.
Next day i didn´t receive anything again.

For me its a little bit strange. Should i worry not to be hired?

The salary sounds ok. 1500 Us$ including transport allowances, acc. provided in a studio type app, for max of 2 persons.

I will not set up to save a lot of money, it is more to make new experiences.

Thanks for an advice,
best regars,
Seba

If the company gets you here on their visa, there should not be any problem. They will not leave after spending on your visa and air tickets.

Well all this sounds rather typical for Doha. However let me know which company you have applied for so I can tell you more about them. Regards Aisha-Taweela

According to what I did experience before coming to Doha, it sounds quite normal. Administrative stuff here is extremely slow and companies are sometimes submerged by a huge number of documents to prepare. My advice is to keep on following up your case and not to worry because that's the way things are in Qatar. I did experience the same thing, and I think I waited for more than 4 mounths before being able to come here and start work. You have also to expect another administrative marathon while being here for the first two or three mounths: Driver's license / fingerprints/ medical check up/...etc. But once you will be here, the company Human Resources Dep will make the follow up. I wish you the best, and Inchallah you'll be fine.
