We are an Indian family with a child and would like to get some advise on the possibilities of getting an Indian maid visa.We used to have a maid through our sponsorship in Dubai and would like to continue with the same lady .Can some one advice on the same.

But my case is specific,I am eligible in terms of my position to sponsor a maid.The issue is to sponsor a maid of the same nationality like indian to Indian.

Any special case where we can by bypass this rule.

Also appreciate if you can tell me what are the other requisites for the sponsorship of maid other than the position of the sponsorship.

William - a bachelor is not allowed to sponsor a 'maid'. Only a couple or family with children.

the rule aims to deter expats from sponsoring their fiancees prior to marriage to be living under the same roof with a "maid" visa...very sharp rule lol

You are not allowed to sponsor a housemaid of the same nationality you are. This is one of the rules in Qatar.

I've read on hukoomi that there's a "Visa for Companions of Resident" or something similar. That can be used for drivers, nannies and the like. It should cover your need.
