Letter of Responsibility.? o.O

Hi Guys. Good morning to you all.I have a little a question.

its about a year n half since I came to Qatar to work in this company. recently I bought my brother here to the same company and after sometime HR manager came to me and asked me to give him a letter that saying you will be responsible for your brother and the work he is doing. at the moment I was little busy and I didn't told anything at that time.
If I give him the letter he will held me responsible if any accident happen when my brother is working.so the question is this, Is Qatar labor law mentioned anything regarding this? because if I'm going to tell something i must have proof to produce.as I have gone through the labor law pdf roughly, it seems to me that there is no relevant part that clearly describe this. can someone help me out?

Im new to QL though :)

u have no reponsibility but to pay the return visa if ur bro is unfit medically/unexperienced. a mere couple days will tell if he is or not. in any case, the company, after the 3 months test period will either enroll or reject him. no responsibility on u.

thanks for your opinion.I thought of the same thing,it should read the specific time period like 3months.I have gone thru the labor law roughly and didn't found anything regarding this.

they are not professionals but they have the certificates/paperworks from the leading reputed institutions and those are not fake ones and they worked some places in sri lanka.the only problem is the language.they don't know english that much.but these people will think that they don't know the work.its a mis understanding.I have already told to hrm about it.

if im going to give a letter I will mention those things clearly.they have left me no choice but to give it to them

and get a proper definition of "not experienced" and "not professional"

- these are subjective and open to manipulation.

I would make sure that there is a time limit (maybe 2 months) included, otherwise they will make you responsible even if they do 2 years of satisfactory work.

But still, not sure what Qatari labour law has to say about this situation - it should be their risk, or agreed BEFORE the hiring.

Simple. Ask your HR Mabager to fly Kites. Tell him to read Qatar Labour Law which can be down loaded from the internet.

I don't understand why your HR Manager is asking you to take the responsibility of your brother working with them. You will have your unwritten responsibilities to your brother but the responsibility of the Employee should be with the Sponsor/Employer.
