Is it better to work under spouse's RP or get my own

Hi all,

we are thinking of relocating to Qatar from the UK in the coming year. My husband is in the telecom industry and I am a Mathematics teacher. Would it be beneficial for us both to secure an international package and can this be done? So would me and my husband both get a seperate allowance for housing, education etc that we could pool together. hence we would both be applying for seperate resident permits.

Has anyone done this and if so are there any complications? Also from any teachers out there is a place guaranteed at the school of employment for teacher's children?

Thanks for your reply. We don't have kids at the moment just long term planning! So if we came on single packages and opted for allowances rather than actual accomodation am I right in thinking it wouldn't be a problem. We would both get our own benefits and packages and put this towards accomodation.

If my info is correct, ladies will have to be under their spouses sponsorship.
