Can any one suggest me how to catch rat which is disturbing my house? I already tried with the glue which is available in market but unsuccessful. Have any one of you tried and succeeded?

Just give it to me. I'll keep it. I've always wanted one. Your rat will be in god hands.

I prefer the glue traps, but whatever trap you use, use chocolate NOT cheese. Mice and rats actually prefer chocolate to cheese! Place some chocolate in the middle of the glue. It always works for me :)

If you want to use the glue thingie place it along the walls and not in the middle of the room. At least that is the rule for mice. You could call the Balladiya. They have been trying to get rid of rats for year. Unfortunately to say, if you have one, you will probably have more and you seriously need to attack this problem.

Go to Souq Waqaf, buy a few white female pet rats. Place tht cage of female rats outside ur house,..rats will just roam around them fulltime...will not enter ur house for sure.... ;-)

Yes a Rat glue is available in the Al Meeras. You have to spread the glue in a sheet of cardboard or thick paper, and place these sheets of paper in the rats probable paths. In the morning you will find the rats stuck in the glue. Then roll the sheets and throw them away in the baladiya trash bins.

EMN, I tried the glue stuff once at work. It might work well in a temperate climate, but here it just melted away!

Probably best to get a proper trap or call in the pest experts.

keep a peice of chocklate and some peanuts on the floor close to each other...

when the rat comes at night he will get confused and thinking abt what to eat fist.....take advantage of this situation and strike him on his head with a frying pan.

easy as that.......

ok now getting serious

GLUE is not effective most of the time as it depends on the size of the rat.

RAT POISON is not recomended specially if you have children at home.

MOUSE TRAP is the only option which will work to some extent but make sure you dont leave any food lying outside when u place a trap as the rat will always go for what is easy.

This is so unfair, deleting our valuable opinions. We wanted to help her. I have seen a movie "Ratatouille" in which an old woman drives out a whole colony of rats with a gun... "bang bang bang" you understand!

Yep, Brit got it right ... Get a cat.

You also need to look at the underlying problems of why the rat is there. Clean up EVERYTHING and throw out your garbage immediately. If it can't find food it will move on and become someone else's problem!

There are actually rat traps. Similar to mouse traps but are bigger and stronger.
