designation change on visa

My company sent me a Mechanic visa and told me it would be changed to Manager visa within a weeks time of my arrival in Qatar.Now its almost 2 months and now they say, the Mechanic visa should be stamped firstly and later on change it to Manager visa.I am not convinced with this statement.Pl guide if the designation can be changed before the visa stamping on my passport as i dont want mechanic visa on my passport.I have now finished the medical and the finger print also.Also i have my degree certificates attested by qatar constulate and indian embassy.Pl guide.

If you stamp the mechanic status on your passport now, you will not be able to change it until after 1 year. That is, you can only change it when you are renewing your resident permit. So the best chance you have is to insist that your company gets the manager status for you NOW!!!!!

after stamping visa.take your cert. to labor dep. it will be changed
