Hi
I have a dispute with Qatar Airways.
During my flight my friend and co passenger found a bug in his meal. Now they refuse to compensate me.
What do you suggest?
Any advices are welcome
I already sent an email to Consumer Protection
Just wait a bit. Qatar airways contract with their food manufacturer surely includes some clause for such incident, so they will probably get the money from them and pass it to you. Don't expect a million dollar it's not USA here...but maybe about 500$ or so.
QA only respect westerners and Qataris, if you were in economy and not from that area, (Greece does not count, well at least not for the last 2000 years) then you are out of luck.
if there is bug on their served food, why not ask for another that is not infested by bugs. its a simple problem. even if you file a complain, its useless because you are alone. just think of it as n experience.
Mandi is a she and she does not work for QR. I am sure that QR is concerned about the issue and will work to remedy it. But I am puzzled as to why you think you are due compensation. What did you lose? What financial harm did you suffer? That is what compensation is meant to address. Otherwise, it becomes extortion.
i disgree with mandilullu comments.looks like he works for qatar airways and gets free tickets hence free food...is the all flight food free?hello....we pay exorbitant prices and sometimes even more during eid and special occasions for prices which are qr 2000+ and thats wats the cost of the food and even after paying this what do we get?bland food and bugs in the food.....this is for every airlines who do the same...plz publish in local newsppaers, websites and consumer watch dog.....
We were sorry to learn of the incident you referred to in your email concerning flight QR473/6th September 2013. We understand that your co passenger, Ms. friend reported to have found a foreign object in his meal.
We would like to assure you that we are treating this matter very seriously and are currently investigating the matter with our caterers. As we are sure you will appreciate, all meals served on board Qatar Airways' flights are subject to stringent quality control and health and safety testing which is designed to prevent these types of incidents occurring.
QA are legally obliged to serve food which is fit for human consumption under the terms of the contract between airline and consumer. Their failure to do so indicates that you are in breach of contract.
What do you need compensation for? Not being able to finish the meal? I'm afraid that the food is free on QR flights so it's not like you are owed the price of the meal. If they got you and your bags to your destination they fulfilled the terms of their contract.

I already contacted Baladiya and Consumer protection.
Its not only about compensation. Its the idea that they are above the law and the way they treat their customers since they dont have any competition.
For the people that based on culture can eat cockroaches or bugs i have nothing to say.
The same goes for those that they believe that if they find a fly on their soup can ask for a spoon to take out the fly
I am open to any other suggestions.
Since i have an email that they admit it i want this to be shown to as many people is possible.
If this was happening to any restaurant in Doha Baladiya would have close it immediately

Which Media?

If you have proof take it to media
