Car Computerized Check (Cheaters)

I heard from some people that they have bad experience with computerized car Check centers; I did not believe it until it was my turn to be cheated.

15 days back I found a car that meets my needs (it is 2012 model and only 6000 KM and within my budget). I took the car for computerized check in CarMaxx center in matar qadeem because it is nearby me. The result was the car is good only small accident on the front. And small hit in the back. They clearly mentioned the Motor and Chasis are good.

Driving the car for 15 days I felt that there is something wrong in it. I took it for another center (Germany Experts center – Salwa Road), they told me the bad news. The car chasis is affected in three points.
I have called consumer protection and opened a case. But the Question is, can we trust anybody nowadays?

i am planning to buy a car and found this post.

I am buying from private dealer, he said he guarantee accident free ( except for parking scratch which is visible)

Should i still take it to the Car brand?

Car that I am looking to buy is Honda & Chevy.

in that case, where you feel even the dealer can't be trusted; then Bosch it is:-)

yea these computer check centers are jokers, i went for an inspection at German car care and they said the ac didn't work, of course it didn't work because he didn't turn the ac button on.

i just wish there was a way i could tell every single person in qatar that if you want to check a car you're buying; there's only two reliable options:

1) The dealer of the brand.

2) The Bosch Service Center - a world famous brand - Qr. 500/- for a bumper to bumper inspection with state of the art equipment. Not a steep price for peace of mind I say.

Before buying a used car.The best thing to do is to book an inspection at the vehicle manufacturer`s (Brand) dealer. They would have all the technical data on engine, brakes and chassis. Most dealers can give you records of prior service and in many cases accident if the car had any. I may cost you a bit more to have the dealer check the vehicle out. It may save you a whole lot of head each and expenses in the long run.

Interesting!

SHB21, what's the name & location of your honest relative's car inspection centre?

all the car inspection centers are not same, some work for money and some are in market to help genuine buyers and do not like to give fake reports. some human error can always be expected though!

My relatives own a car inspection center and they honestly tell the buyer about all the problems car has including accident, chassis problem etc

God fearing people also exist on earth!...

Chassis tests are not part of computer tests tho!

This is more mechanical inspection. Computer tests should only tell you things about the engine, transmission.. etc...

Thelonius,

these tool are useless. these only give you codes of check engine lights... Not chassis assessments

Well I had same experience .I bought an Altima 2006 model after checking it in German inspection centre .The report i got mentioning paint on both finder and left door but chassis was safe. Additional note car need wheel alignment. I have tried many places to solve the problem of wheel alignment as whenever i crossed 100 kph so i felt steering was shaking. When i was selling the car the person who was purchasing the car asked me i don't care whether your car is painted or not but chassis should be okay and i guarantee him, that i have checked it when i bought it, So don’t worry you have to do wheel alignment from a good workshop. When he visit a garage for wheel alignment the technician told him it is not possible to rectify the fault as the chassis is bend and the car had a major accident. He called me and i was shocked to hear that. We went both to the German inspection and i showed the report but they said we have done it 6 months ago and might you have accident or pass by any speed hump etc etc. nothing work and finally i paid extra money to the person who bought my car. Don't believe these buggers they will cheat you for their own business.

They cheat .. I have seen on two occasions .. but for the seller not for themselves.

Specially if the seller speaks their language.

sure i agree with you !

they are not experts - i checked my car in 2 different checking centre and both gave different reports

one says my engine is 85% and another says its 93% - in dubai if you want to buy a car you first take it to technical inspection run by govt. if it passes you bby the car not like here - door is painted reduce the price - its all about playing with people

@Car4, Thank you for the advice.

@doha, I do not need to cheat anybody !!!!

@Sense Mine,

it seems you are not in doha, here to fix any car you have to have traffic report, So if the car has a new accident this will be found by checking traffic Dep. for accident log.

We can't relay any of them because they are doing business for money. I would strongly recommend you to check authorised service center at Industrial area ie. (Nissan - Saleh Al Hamad, Kia - Al attiyah, Totota - Abdullah Gani) they will tell you what exact promblem and the history of accident.
