Bonus and gratuity

I have recently completed 3 years in a company. Now i am resigning from it. When i ask about bonus and gratuity to the company, they said they could not give it because the company is under loss. Is it true if a company bears a loss, they are not obligable to give this service to me? I dont have any right to get my bonus and gratuity if company bears loss?

Even if it is your "right" you will still have a hard time getting it because you are in Qatar.

Gratuity is your right and the company is bound to pay it as per Qatari Labour Law. Bonus is not an employees right. A Bonus is usually paid by good companies when it is making profits and as such this payment acts as impetus to employees to continue with the good performance. If your company is refusing to pay you your End of Service Benefits, you can seek assistance from the Human Rights Committee and also the Labour Office.
