Advice on what to bring

Hi Guys.

I recieved a conditional job offer in Qatar and now I'm in the process of preparing for things that I woudl like to bring with me.

I have about 30 or so astrology books that I woudl like to bring- just personal use/collection.

So the question is,

Would these astrology books be possible to take with me to Qatar and keep or would they get taken away?

Thank you

Thank you very much Mary! That's really helpful!

I just thought that based on the religion in that part of the world, that it would not be allowed in the country let alone being sold in book shops! Sorry for my ignorance, I have been researching, but it's difficult when you're an arm chair traveller to get an accurate picture of things that you want to know. Once I'm clearer on my contract, I will try to schedule a visit to Qatar before next year as I am due to start around then.

Thanks again!

I have lived in the GCC for 15+ years. The only confiscation I know of personally was a recording of the ladies figure skating in the Olympics in the late 90s.

If your books are for personal use and have no pornographic pictures, you're OK. I have had books on Buddhism etc. sent to me via Amazon. No issues. If needed, you can buy books on astrology here in some book shops (very popular in some Asian communities) but books are expensive here

Hi Mary. Thanks for responding to my question so fast! May I ask, how you know this? Do you yourself know someone or has had personal experience of this?

Thank you

They won't be taken away.
