With due courtesy to CHAIRMAN TD, I created A NEW THREAD out of this topic for the all members to read here on FILEXPAT.

For those who will give their views, opinion and comments...tread carefully and/or be cautious. For those who have or suffering from "high-blood"...try to relax and control yourselves.

This is aimed to be a SANE DISCUSSION / DEBATE...exchange (your)views, GO AHEAD but REFRAIN FROM "PERSONAL ATTACKS"

YOU/WE ARE OLD/MATURE ENOUGH TO BE REPRIMANDED from hereforth...

With our membership hitting 999 and our forum having gained an accidental recognition in media, we would like to remind you of our goal/mission and our purpose to all who visit this site.

At this point I would like to reiterate what I have said during our first anniversary just to set your expectations correctly and not think that we are only here to party. And I quote:

“With more often serious forum topics, we then sought out to have the lighter side of Qatar life on our get-togethers.

Our gatherings are yes a social gathering – a way to let us breathe through our homesickness, our work pressures, our family pressures, and our loneliness and be with those who we share our thoughts, our hang-ups and our opinions with on the internet.

In this regard, I hope we do make our forum more relevant, more helpful and our gatherings more meaningful and happy occasions to share with people with whom we have shared our opinions and thoughts.”

Let me remind you that first and foremost that we are a virtual group. But many of us have chosen to do away with that veil of anonymity in the Internet and meet our fellow members. However, we are still a virtual group in a website. Thus the reason we do not have a set of elected officers but rather assigned administrators.

We are a virtual group that is why our trust is information dissemination. I believe we are doing a great service not only to our countrymen but to other nationalities as well. We should continue on this wonderful endeavor.

We are a virtual group. Whenever we gather officially, we carry the name of the group and the site. This is why in every official gathering – gatherings announced on the forum – we see to it that the laws of Qatar are not violated. We will not hesitate to take action if in any official gathering there will be issues that would jeopardize the group and the site.

We are a virtual group. If you expect your administrators to help each and every distressed OFW, I believe you have set your expectations wrongly. What we expect from you is that if you want to help out then you should start it. Start a thread and be ready to act upon it. Don’t expect your admins to do everything for you because like you, the reason we are here is earn a living for our family. But I assure you we will support your lead on a good cause and we have already helped a lot.

Please remember the guidelines we have set on our forum so that misunderstandings will be avoided.. Remember what you post will leave a mark or an impression of you on the readers’ minds. You may not be vulgar but if you write vulgarity then you cannot avoid that impression of you. So be very careful on what you write and how you write it. As always, we remind you to: “Think before you post.”

I,for one will attest to the fact that my circle of friends and acquaintances have grown due to Qatar Living and in particular because of our Filipino Expatriates group. I see this group not just friends but a family right here in Qatar. I have seen how our past gatherings have turned into feelings of family reunions instead of just friends going out. And each gathering always leaves us with a great anticipation of the next one.

I know you will agree with me that we are not just a Filipino Expatriates Group in Qatar Living but the Filipino Expatriates Family in Qatar.

TD
