Sherborne Qatar

Hi,
We are due to relocate to Qatar from the UK in January 2014. My eldest daughter is in year 10...has anyone got any feedback on Qatar Sherborne as this is about the only school which has a place for her. Also we are due to be located in Barwa City so would that be a difficult drive or does anyone have experience of using school transport ?

Many thanks,

I've a place for my son in Sherborne and want to live in West bay - I drove from WB to school in 25 mins with little traffic so I would imagine 1 hour during term time more realistic - I had planned using their bus service but the bus company want to collect him at 5.30!!!

ex-patsy, just wanted to ask which area do you live in, just to get an idea of the time on the bus.

Hi, We´re new too. My son entered year 9 about 6 weeks ago and he loves it! All the kids have been super friendly and helpful and he comes home really positive. The only downside is the journey. He gets the school bus which picks him up at 5.50 and drops him at 3.40 so it´s a long day (1hr 15 min journey each way) but he´s adapted well. The bus is well organised and well monitored, the lady (Eden) is brilliant and texts with any delays or earlier arrivals. As for the traffic & psycho drivers.....

We have just arrived in Qatar and our boys are in Year 8 at Sherborne. So far the impression I've got of the school is excellent. It is all I'd hoped for and more. Other parents that I've spoken to (both new and old) are also delighted with the school as are their children. As far as the journey goes, as a newbie I can just tell you that it's a nightmare!! I thought our compound was fairly close to the school looking on google maps (we are near Villagio). This morning it took us 50 minutes and we left at 6.30. It takes 15 minutes on a Friday. It looks like we'll have to leave a bit earlier to beat the traffic. As long as you're prepared for the long/ very early journey. I can't comment on the school bus.
