Indian School

We have been looking for KG1 in Indian Curriculum for our Son. I moved to Qatar in January and family has got RP last month. All schools said that they do not have seats. I re-approached Delhi Public School and Springfield and saw that they accepted admission when I was there. DPS then said that my son does not meet age criteria. He should be 3.5 as on March .. he is 1.5 month short then the age criteria. I went to Supreme Education Council and they said that Springfield in Wakra has vacancy and they will write to school to take admission. School called next day saying they got mail from SEC and to bring the child for written test. He should write A to L

Surely it's up to the school Asti who they accept or reject

It's the strategy of schools if they don't want to give admissions but I fail to understand why would schools do that even if they have seats

Are these rules applied to everyone or just your child

My son has been attending nursery in India and he is able to write A to Z. So we went to the school. They said that he should come alone to the classroom and Parents should wait in Office. Being a new place and new people, my son started crying and was not ready to go alone. We asked them to accompany him till the classroom but they didn't oblige. I requested to the Head of school several times but she said that was the rule. I asked her to take the exam in their office but she didn't allow. It was extremely disgusting to see what they expect from a 3.5 year old kid .. to go to a exam hall and write tests like elders. How can head of school not understand the child's behavior
