Where can I buy Macs/Macbooks in Doha

freeyourmind
By freeyourmind

Hi All

What's the best place to buy Macs in Doha in terms of prices, service etc. Jarir used to sell them but don't anymore. Is there only one dealer/distributor or several.

If anybody has any stories to share (+ve or _ve) about a particular store, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!

from Apple direct.

If you don't need the dual English/Arabic keyboard, then skip buying here and order direct from US.

I order my macs from amazon.com and get it shipped by Aramex. Best price and latest models. Easy.

try www.bhphotovideo.com, it's way cheaper than virgin, ispot and other apple distributors which is also covered with international warranty. they ship here in qatar for only $100-150US. way cheaper than the shops here. I bought a macbook pro for 7500 including the shipping. Where in some shops they sell it for 8500-10000 Riyals.

someone suggested buying one from the US.. its so much cheaper plus you could get the apple care warranty should you run into problems in the future.

I've been a MAC user for a while - I advise anyone looking to purchase one to go to iSpot, they are without doubt the best in Qatar for product knowledge and customer service.

They are an Apple premium reseller - Carrefore/Geant etc are not and connot provide the level of after sales service - I made the mistake of buying a MBA from one of them and getting a minir fault repaired is a nightmare!

Surely you are not joking when you say

Macs are very user-friendly.

and carrefour.. lol!

mac pros costs like $2000..

Well, Almana at Rayyan Road is the local authorized seller in Qatar. Besides this you will find them in Modern Home in city center and at Virgin Store like N77 suggested. The Macbooks here have an bilingual Key boards ( Arabic/English). They are over priced here.

my only choices are:

- Almana Apple Store

- iSPot

i compare the price and specifications, The price brackets are almost the same. (more less cheaper in Almana by 100 or 200 QR)

but for accesories like cases or sleeve, go for iSpot.

(located in City Center)

I know there are LOTs of sellers posting about unlocked iPhones. How to know who is reputable? I'd like to buy one but really don't know where to start.

By the way, I am also a mac user (macbook). I didn't need Arabic, so I bought it in the US and had it sent to me via Aramex. Much better deal that way...

I believe the best Apple shop in Doha is the newest in City Center - iSpot! Its the first ever APPLE PREMIUM RESELLER in Qatar.

NOTE: AND BY THE WAY, BEFORE ANYONE SAYS THIS MAC IN THIS SHOP IS CHEAPER THAN THE OTHER, CHECK OUT THE SPECS FIRST. Just a friendly reminder from an Apple freak like me! =) BEFORE YOU CHECK THE SHOPS, CHECK OUT http://www.apple.com FIRST TO KNOW THE CURRENT/LATEST SPECS.

Hey, Apple/Mac lovers! Lets meet! ;)

that number given by Kejri 4494749 is NOT Apple by the way.

@Qatman, Qatar's Apple prices are sadly only a bit cheaper than the UK.

America still gets the cheapest :(

Al Mana & Partners and Virgin at Villagio mall are the other places to buy.

You can call Mr Sahid on 552 0906. He sells and maintains. Prices are better than any ones in Doha. I and many others have bought from him.

Giant Store are also selling mac, there's a sale now on macbook for QR 3999, i think it's only 80GB. For personal use i think that would be enough, but if you're planning to use it for graphics I suggest you buy the macbook pro.

Office 1 and PC 1 in Salwa sell macs aswell. I think cheaper than VIRGIN MEGA STORE

We seem to have something else on our minds!

I haven't seen the Macs at Virgin recently but it's a good place to start. I have a feeling other stores are selling them too but not sure which ones. The Apple site was not very helpful.

Qatman - I was referrring to the laptops by Apple which are called Macbooks not books about Macs.

Thanks
