Online Shopping in the US - share your experience

Let me give you an idea of my situation. I love laptops and make sure that I choose a laptop that is powerful yet affordable. I'm setting my eyes on the ASUS G-Series laptops, the G75 to be more specific. Unfortunately it's not available here in Qatar (correct me if im wrong). Because of this I'm left with no other option but to buy it outside Qatar via online shopping.

Online shopping is also pretty difficult especially if you have not done it before. Some of the things you need to consider are: online shop to choose, payment method, forwarding service, your mailing address in Qatar etc. It's tricky at some parts too.

There are a lot of ways to do this, so many that I cant decide which one works best, or which one is easier, or cheaper, or safer, etc or the best mix of all of this considerations. I guess the best solution to find a good answer is from someone who has done this "online shopping" himself/herself.

I'm seeking the help of avid online shoppers who orders items outside the country by sharing your experience.. If you shopped online and got your item then please tell me how you did it so I could just follow your method. You can share your positive or negative experiences but let me just remind posters that you STICK to the TOPIC and not on VENTING your frustrations or dissatisfaction.
