A diamond is a girl’s best friend! Here are some of the simple solutions or the methods that will enable you to find out the difference between the fake vs. real diamond. The first method is to check the diamond with the help of diamond tester as it will help you to differentiate between real diamond and best fake diamond. It is an electronic tester that can check all the diamonds except the moissanite stone for which the diamond tester is not reliable. The best fake diamond is the cubic zirconia and the weight of this diamond is around 50% more than a real diamond of the same size and shape. Hold the stone or the diamond and blow some air from your mouth on to the stone, if the fog appears on the stone and stays there for next few seconds then it shows that the stone is a best fake diamond because in case of a real diamond, the heat disappears instantly. The real diamond projects blue color light if put under the ultra violet light or the black color.

An internationally recognised organisation like carrefor cannot afford to sell products that are not what they are claimed to be.

It is almost certain that you have bought a genuine diamond and as presumably you bought it because you liked it and not as an investment you should just wear it and enjoy it.

For the record diamonds come in many quality brackets. Graded by a colour letter (D being pure white and the most sought after) and a series of codes that identify internal flaws (inclusions). For example a near perfect diamond may have the code VVS1 which means that it has Very Very Small inclusions. The next code up would be VVS2 and so and so on until you get to diamonds where the flaws are visable with the naked eye. These appear as small black carbon spots.

If you are buying a diamond for investment you should ensure that it has a certificate from an independent gemology institute. This certificate will list the following.

1) Cut

2) Weight (carat)

3) Colour

4) Quality

It may also have an illustration of the stone and identify where the inclusion ( if there are any) are in the stone.

Hop this helps you and others and in the mean time enjoy your purchase

A diamond could be of several different Qualities and Cuts and - yes at Carrefour it could be a real one, but at a lower quality. There are also industrial Diamonds around.

I suggest you just enjoy your Diamond and don't care of checking it out. You obviously bought it because you liked it- assume it is real and be content!!

Burn it, it should turn into pure carbon at 1500 degrees Celsius.
