Round One of Arabian Drag Racing League ends with a bang

It was an amazing experience to be in the world's flatest drag strip, to witness the annual Arabian Drag Racing League.

The final part of the Round 1 took place 15th January at the Qatar Racing Club where cars and motorcycles of over 3,000 horse power gathered to compete for the title of "King Of Speed" in the Gulf region and beyond.

Mahana Al-Naemi from Qatar in his 13 chevy camaro beat Al-Balooshi from U.A.E at a record of; low E.T. 5.74S Top speed 2.875MPH to win Round 1 in Pro modified title.

Christina Atat of  the Al-Anabi racing from Qatar emerged the champion in the Junior dragster category. >

Naser Hussain from Kuwait beat Al Abdulla to scoop first place in the Al-Anabi Dragster category. >

Hassan Yusuf in his 92 Ford Mustang won the Super Street 8 Cylinder category at a record of Low E.T. 4.192 Top speed 196.79. >

Mohamed Salma from Bahrain defended his title by winning the 4.50 Index, He drives a 2000 Pontiac. >

Not only is Rashid Al-Hajiri a defending champion in the SuperStreet Bike category but his also the champion in the Qatar Mile and the Qatar National Street Drag. Amazing right??

On his Suzuki Hayabusa, he set a record of Low E.T. 4.438 Top speed; 178.85. >

At a record of Low E.T. 5117, Top Speed 141.92 Misfer Al Misfer on his 04 Suzuki HB came first to scoop the title in the Real Street category.

Misfer hails from Kuwait. >

Mohd Haji on his 92 Nissan Skyline from Bahrain came in first place in the SuperStreet 6 Cylinder, setting a record of  Low E.T. 4.555, Top Speed 165.31 >

Mo Atat from Al- Anabi on his 14 Chevy Corvette bagged number one on the Outlaw 10.5 category.

His daughter Christina also won the Junior Dragster, What a memorable moment. >

Mohd Darwish defended his title by defeating Al Saber in the Pro Bike category.

Setting a record of 4.048, Top Speed 173.63 >

This weekend marks the begining of the five round League that is taking place at Qatar Racing Club during this month till the begining of Feburuary.The dates are set as below:

  • Round 2 - 22nd January
  • Round 3 - 29th January
  • Round 4 -  12th February
  • Round 5 - 19th February

Make sure you mark your calenders.
