Car Repair
Dear Friends,
I took my car( Nissan Sunny 2001) for A inspection in this morning. they found an major fault with a engine. It was a BLUE SMOKE FROM EXHAUST WHEN ACCELERATING. any body had this happen? Could you please advice me if there is any good private workshop can fix this problem.
i checked with nissan company. they told to replace the engine simply which will cost 4000 labour charge + 10000 For spare parts.
I would appreciate it if you could reply my question early.
Regards,

Blue smoke is caused by engine oil entering the cylinder area and being burned along with the fuel air mixture. As with the white smoke, just a small drop of oil leaking into the cylinder can produce blue smoke out the tailpipe. Blue smoke is more likely in older or higher mileage vehicles than newer cars with fewer miles.
How did the engine oil get inside the cylinder in the first place? The car has many seals, gaskets, and O-rings that are designed to keep the engine oil from entering the cylinder, and one of them has failed. If too much oil leaks into the cylinder and fouls the spark plug, it will cause a misfire (engine miss) in that cylinder, and the spark plug will have to be replaced or cleaned of the oil. Using thicker weight engine oil or an oil additive designed to reduce oil leaks might help reduce the amount of oil leaking into the cylinder.
If you just want your car get passed through the Inspection then use some engine treatment fluid (e.g. STP Treatment) which can be found at any auto spares store. Your car would stop emitting that smoke for atleast a few days and you would be able to do the inspection in the meanwhile.
If you want to fix this problem permanently, just go to any Scrap/Junkyard in the Industrial Area...buy a used engine with same specs and replace it with the current one at any workshop there. It will cost you much less than the Nissan Company.
Trade in for a new car...
Let me ask you a question how many km on the car? Did you service this car regularly?
But for them to say that because you have blue smoke, not white right? That you need a new engine sounds like B.S. to me, but you should be able to find a used replacement motor for way less than that, The labor is still gonna cost you the same at Nissan. But as your car is old and out of warranty you can get anyone willing to do the work for you.
