For General inforamtion for a new car for another 3 years no need to go for Technicl Inspection you can renew it at any traffic dept. pepole are giving wrong information, for your case you have to have Technical Inspection first.

How old your veh?? if it is 2008/2009 model, u can renew directly from Traffic Deptt. If older than 2008, u have to go for Tech. Inspection 1st at Wakra or elsewhere!!

So follow the procedure for old cars, first take to Techical Inspection center after complete check up from a local work shop to avoid going again. sometimes cars are not passed just for a small bulb is not working.

If you renew the istimara before the expiry no problem but you will loose the remaining days . they will mention the new date of issuance and will finish after 364 days better wait for 1st week of Feb.

If it is new car just go to any traffic dept. give old istimara and pay the fee Qr. 250/- with copy of new insurance, it is renewed, no need even to fill any application form,if your car is old you need to do the necessary maintenance, any damages, scratches need to repair then take to Qatar Technical Inspection at Industrial area if it pass, give copy of the insurance and old istimara with fee, there is one traffic dept in this inspection center, but you should have renewed insurance.
