Majeed Amjad - Heart touching poetry
Majeed Amjad was an outstanding poet. But unfortunately his poetry is not much read and he is largely forgotten. Element of sadness is very obvious in his poetry which is hugely attributable to his personal life which was not a happy one.
yahi phoolon ke zeesat ka mahasl hay
ke iss ka tabsum, iss ke ajl hay
yeh dunya hay meri ke marqad hay mera
yahan bhe andhaira wahan bhe andhaira

Khilariyon ke khudnoshat dastkhat ke wastay
kitabachy leyey huay
khari hain, muntazir haseen larkian
dhalaktay aanchloon se be-khabr haseen larkian
wo bowler, aik behwashoon ke jhamghatoon main ghir gya
wo safha bayaz per
basad gharoor kalk goharain phiri
haseen khilkhilahtoon ke darmian----wicket geri
main ajnabi be-nishan
main pa-bah-gul
na rifat maqam hay na shuhrat dawam hay
ye looh-e-dil yeh looh-e-dil
na iss pe koi naqsh hay na iss pe koi naam hay
