Driving with Dog from Dubai to Doha

Does anybody have any experience driving their dog across the KSA or UAE borders?
I've read the previous posts regarding the ah, peculiarities of driving from Doha to Dubai, through Saudi Arabia. While I realize some precautions should be taken (obtain your permits prior, women should be fully veiled, etc), the drive itself sounds fairly easy, especially for those with residency permits from GCC countries.
But after Xmas we will be flying into Dubai with our lovely dog, replete with all her necessary permits for life in Doha, but now I'm wondering: what will happen at the Saudi border (both UAE side and Qatar side) as we attempt to drive through with our caged dog? Will the permits obtained in/for Qatar be sufficient for traveling non-stop through KSA with our dog?
Any advice or anecdotal info would be most appreciated (but please, no "urban myths" to scare us unnecessarily). THANKS!
That very much depends upon whether you will share the driving with Fido.
