I have never been to Kuwait but I saw a situation in Dammam which told me something about Kuwaitis. There was this Saudi at the petrol station waiting in line to fill up his tank. When his turn came, a Kuwaiti drove up and parked his car in front of the Saudi's car and asked the petrol station employee to fill his tank first. This led to a heated argument between the two nationals. The Kuwaiti stated with pride that he was a Kuwaiti and as such it was his right to be served first. The Saudi asked, "Which Kuwait are you talking of? It does not exist as it is under the occupation of Iraq?" I watched the argument taking place with awe. It sent a simple message to me that Kuwaitis are indeed very proud lot of people. Even when they did not have their own country, they did not seem to lose their pride. A Saudi colleague of mine confirmed that Kuwaitis do not consider even Saudis as humans. Keeping that real-life incident in mind, I firmly believe that Qatar is a far better place for expats than Kuwait.
