Interesting debate that exposes the way western cultures perceive and deal with art: an individual's creation which is interpreted by others in accordance with each individual's personal perception.

Eastern cultures appear to have a more conservative view, and prefer to draw lines in the creation process, perhaps seeing the process as a mechanical one, limiting the ingredients as well as the outputs.
It seems that the way art is seen and interpreted, is from a collective point of you (how a group dictates its interpretation) and individual's interpretations are not respected, thus the protest of a group protesting as if their views were universal.

Its all ok and culturally driven... times changes and cultures evolve, lets wait for 2900 and this discussion will no longer make sense.
