Punishment practices that were common in the VII century are no longer seen as appropriate for humans, often labeled as barbaric and are mostly extinct in the XXI century, in societies that had a positive evolution in terms of civilizational behavior, since the middle ages. The law and society in question, is clearly an exception and has not followed the rest of the word's civilizational path!
I am not denying the existence of the rules nor the punishment described in the OP. All I am saying is that they are barbaric and satanic!
