The website was closed for 'maintenance' within days of Menard publishing his (bitter) letter of resignation on the site.
Even the DCMF probably knew that removing (censoring) the website of a press freedom center is a bad look, so rather than closing the site, or removing the letter, they instead opted to disable the site claiming 'maintenance'.
I'm sure we all wish Maryem Al Khater and whoever will replace Menard well, although I have to say that if past behavior is any sort of guide, I don't think that hosting the DCMF will be anything for Qatar to brag about.
Do you think the new Director will be government appointed and government approved - someone who will promise not to ruffle any domestic feathers?
