Certain nationalities here are stereotyped for certain work. You would be kidding yourself if you would think that even uneducated westerners would come here to work labour. The country is what it is and it has worked this way for a long time.

In the west, many of our goods are made in India, China, Indonesia.... outsourcing... even technical support for major companies is in India, your good ole American taxes are outsourced to firms in India for a fraction of the price. Why do you think here would be different? If I were a business owner here I would be looking for the cheapest and most reliable employees I could, wouldnt you? Back home is the same also when it comes to hiring, people do kind of "stick together" even in the west.

As for accomodation, I would be picky also. I couldnt share an appartment with someone who cooked certain stuff, which is perhaps native to a certain region. Also, people know the cultural mores and such of their own people and feel more comfy with that. I cant disagree.
