Formatting is about the easiest IT-related procedure to do. Whenever our IT can't fix a problem with a pc, they tell me that god-awefull sentence, "We need to format!!!". It takes about 40 minutes & you'll be back in business.
1) restart your machine, and as soon as you see the screen turned off, start pressing the DELETE key and the F2 key like crazy (to enter the BIOS). I don't know which one so I usually just press both, won't do no harm.
2) Once you enter BIOS, look for Boot Device Priority (usually in Advanced Settings) and put the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM as the first boot device.
3) press F10 to save & exit. (or whatever button the screen tells you to press and pop in that Windows CD and there ya go.
4) from there just follow the instructions.
