Citizenship is not an automatic right, and each country can set it own rules with regards to these things. But your blanket statements about this not being a democracy and people should not cry about ANY laws here because they should have donw their homework is 2 edged. On one hand yes, you don't HAVE to work/live here, and if it's TOO unbearable you should not have come and/or try to extract yourself asap. On the other hand, this country has MANY backwards and downright ILLEGAL (this according to the UN charter of human rights) practices! And to say you can't talk about it, smacks of desperation to hold on to the status quo. True we cannot change it....it's up to Qataris to do that, it is THEIR country after all....but most people are morally obligated to speak out when they see injustice...if only to "identify" the problem as Knoxville said, so that one day (hopefully) something can be done about it.
At least the encouraging trend is that in SOME areas, Qatar is making strides in the right direction.
Stay safe all.
Perfection does not exist. The question therefore, is: what level of imperfection are we willing to settle for?
