for hotels, it all depends on your budget and your preference.
talking about must-see places, there are lots of it, few of them are:
- singapore night safari (i loved it), there s an aminal show in the zoo, dont miss that specially if you are going with you kids.
- jurong birds park (if you wanna take a break from shopping malls and high rise, this is a place to visit, You can also enjoy the fantastic Penguin Exhibit with an underwater viewing gallery, along with the world-clas All-Star Bird Show, there is also tallest man made water falls)
- duckboat tour (it offers combined city and sea tour with out switching)
- Sentosa Island (You can go on cable cars from harbourpoint MRT stop, if you do go there make sure you go to underwater world, visit the dolphin lagoon, to see the dolphin show, and do the luge and sky ride and - if your into rides!!, one of the best attraction in sentosa is "song of the sea" - its a mesmerizing show with a live cast and dramatic effects pyrotechnics, water jets, brilliant lasers, special computer imaging, captivating music and stunning flame bursts, make sure you get your tickets well in advance before the show to avoid disappointment, but let me inform you sentosa is a costly affair.)
- singapore flyer (its a world largest observation wheel, you ll be able to see even some parts of malaysia and indonesia)
apart frm these, there are lots of other interesting places, but i feel, these are not-to-miss places in singapore.
