Well put Qatari....markets are notorious for the "self-fulfiling prophecies" phenomenon...ie they are driven by consumer expectations as much (if not more so) as they are by micro or macro economic factors.

Unethical people can and have in the past exploited the unaware with such methods....be forewarned.
