Congrats on the new baby, and good luck with you rmove to Qatar.
My wife and I had our first daughter born here in January, and let me tell you its not bad at all.
As others have said Hamad Hospital is very cheap/almost free from what I hear, but we opted for a private hospital anyways. There are at LEAST 3 (that we looked at) and were all excellent. There's Imadi Hospital, Al Ahli Hospital, and Doha Clinic Hospital.
In the end, we settled on Doha Clinic Hospital (because of its proximity, and the fact that they would allow me into the operating theater in case of a c-section). The rate we were quoted (back in Januray) was 5,000 Qatari riyals if it was a normal birth, and it could go up tp a maximum of 10,000 in case of an emergency C-section.
The staff was extremely professional...all spoke english...all were very polite. The rooms and the overall post delivery service was excellent, and we were very pleased. We whave no hesitation in recommending this hospital, and will chose it again if we ever have another child.
Hope that helps, and once again good luck with everything!
Be safe all.
Perfection does not exist. The question therefore, is: what level of imperfection are we willing to settle for?
