No I don't believe Pity the Nation to be a Gospel of truth, but I do believe that some one who says: "I do not care what Robert Fisk says" is not an intellectual person. Not that Robert Fisk is the international standard to measure intellectuality but anyone who wants to know about Lebanon or the Middle East should CARE about people like Robert Fisk!

There should not be anything political about the right to defend your country and free your oppressed people from occupation and imprisonment. Israel is still occupying lebanese land and holding prisoners. Here is a lesson of PATRIOTISM:
It is sad to see how Israel cares about its dead soldiers (Ron Arad) more than some Lebanese do about living Leb. captive resistance fighters/Heroes who are not even Hezbollah fighters but Communist (Samir al Kantar). Where is Ellias Atallah today? did he ever bring up this issue of Leb. prisoners with his new buddy Feldman at his various meetings with US embassy officials and envoys? ,Where was he last summer when Israel cowardly killed innocent children with bombs too scared to launch an infantry or land invasion? Was he at the front lines? or at the doors of the US Embassy?
What has politics to do with standing united in the face of the aggressor that knows no language exept for the language of force and resistance? What has politics to do with celebrating EID AL TAHRIR (liberation Day) and making sure that our left behind Leb. captives get back to their families? Hezbollah has succeeded in the past and will succeed again in the future. But if all Lebanese stand united together we can make this victory happen sooner than later...
I will surely get back to you after I watch the Jazeera doc. and I will piont out to you the epsisode that mentions the fighting done by Islamic Amal who became later Hezbollah!
