If we decide to buy it my wife will be driving the durango.
She also felt very safe and secure , Because of the size she was worried about parking and we have requested a quotation to install parking sensors. We are waiting for the price for this.
You get this as well as leather seats etc. in the LTD version but they dont have any in stock at moment. The salesman said 2-3 months for new delivery of LTD version and obviously more expensive than normal version.
Can't give any info on dune bashing, apart from the fact that although it is a large size vehicle it has a 5.7l engine which is pretty powerful and will get you out of most tricky situations, has AWD, 4WD and 4WD-LO settings and also great if you need to tow anything. I have the feeling it may not be the best off roader out there but it is certainly more than capable for general off road work.
I generally liked grand cherokee as well but durango has the same engine, seems to have mopre speace and is a lot cheaper.
