Day to Day Responsibilities
Providing user support for Desktop and Laptop issues
Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications;
Interacting with users, either face to face or over the telephone to help them to resolve the issues
Troubleshooting and solving system and network incidents for hardware or software faults
Replacing faulty parts and setting hardware configuration parameters
Preparing procedural documentation and incident reports
Following diagnostic flow diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system
Supporting the roll-out of new applications;
Setting up new users' accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues
Responding to incidents within agreed time limit
Prioritize and manage to resolve incidents within user expectation
Testing and evaluating new technology
Supporting System evaluation test by testing compatibility of new programs with existing programs as per developer’s instructions
Maintaining system capability by testing computer components.
Preparing reference sheet for users by writing operating instructions.
Maintaining historical records by documenting hardware and software changes and revisions.
Improving professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
Conducting electrical safety checks on computer equipment
