Karate Course & Test Fees

Hi folks, I am new to Qatar. Recently got my 10 years old kid enrolled to a local club for taking Karate lessons. Since he is new to Karate, he enrolled as white belt.

With in 4 weeks, the trainer says child is ready for Yellow_belt_1 exam that would cost QAR 250/-. I have been told by many that (1) a white-to-yellow belt cant be taught that fast, and (2) this basic test costs far less in the range of QAR 100/-.

The club however says QAR 250/- is standard test fees charged by Qatar Karate Federation for such test. I am confused. Unable to reach Qatar Karate Federation as of now.

Any suggestions on this? Thanks in advance.

I moved upto Yellow 1 in a month and the Academy charged me Qr.250 , and a month later I moved upto Yellow 2 and was charged another 250. I'm not sure if we're being conned but I think that's the standard here.

I know it is not karate ... My son been doing tae kwon do at korean tae kwon do centre under master shin. He charged QR 100 for testing fee. The master usually never ask the parents to pay for testing fee if he think the student is not ready.

Me also think that QR 250 is too much, as other said your karate master ripping you off.

It took 8 weeks for my 6 years old to move from white to yellow and the fee we paid was only 75 QAR.

Your Karate club is ripping you off.
