ANYONE who has to bring work home from the office and vice versa knows how hard it is to keep everything in sync. Apart from the need to keep work flowing, one also has to be cautious about losing data.
There are several ways of doing these, but the most attractive is the one Iomega has to offer. And it’s not even a hardware.
Iomega’s v.Clone software is a clever new technology that basically clones your primary PC, which may be the one at home or in the office, saving it to an external hard drive. Once you plug it to a secondary PC, you don’t just get access to all your applications but also office software, e-mail programs, games, and browser favorites.
“This virtual image includes the operating system, all applications [Office, Outlook, Acrobat, Games, etc.], digital files [word, images, videos], and personal settings [browser favorites, wallpaper, etc.],” says Rajeev Mukul, Iomega Smart Storage Solutions VP for Asia Pacific and Japan.
The v.Clone has the ability to keep the virtual image updated with changes made to the user’s primary PC.
“While virtualization isn’t new, it’s hardly been a consumer offering up until now. With v.Clone software, you can access your files and e-mail on almost any computer anywhere. What’s more, the v.Clone is available as a free download at http://protection-suite.iomega-web.com/vclone,” says Mukul.
