The 12th Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition (AgriteQ), featuring exhibitors from 29 counties, will kick off at the Cultural Village Foundation, Katara, on February 4, announced Qatar’s Ministry of Municipality on Monday.
The five-day event, being held under the patronage of Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, will run from February 4 to 8. It will be held in an area of over 40,000 sqm, with over 300 local and international exhibitors taking part.
AgriteQ 2025, one of the region’s most prominent agricultural events, will focus on innovative agricultural solutions and methods. It will also provide agricultural specialists with an ideal platform to exchange knowledge and share experiences.
It will also feature specialised markets, including for dates, honey, flowers, and crops.
The Ministry of Municipality held a Press conference at its headquarters on Monday to give more details about the event.
AgriteQ 2025’s Organizing and Supervisory Committee Chairman Yousef Khalid Al Khulaifi said the exhibition would open new doors for investment and partnerships in the field. He said it also comes after the Ministry of Municipality launched the strategic plan for food security 2024-30.
“This year, we were keen to choose a strategic location to hold the exhibition — at Katara. This edition will be the largest in terms of area and will reflect the growth witnessed by agricultural sector in the country,” Al Khulaifi was quoted as saying by The Peninsula.
Ministry of Municipality’s Public Relations Department Director Dr. Fayeqa Abdullah Ashkanani said a media campaign will highlight the country’s efforts to achieve self-sufficiency through the National Food Security Strategy 2030.
Agriteq 2025 Organizing and Supervisory Committee Vice Chairman Mohammed Ibrahim Al Sada, who is also Director of Public Parks Department at the Ministry of Municipality, said the most important objective of the exhibition was to achieve an integrated and sustainable agricultural sector.
“We seek to highlight the latest innovations and technologies in the field of sustainable agriculture, including smart irrigation systems, modern technologies in organic and ornamental agriculture, and food security.”
