US President Biden praises Qatar’s leadership in Gaza ceasefire discussions

US President Joe Biden commended HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani for his pivotal role in mediating negotiations in Doha for a ceasefire and hostage release deal.

Speaking on January 13, 2025, Biden highlighted Qatar’s efforts, along with contributions from Prime Minister HE Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, as significant in promoting humanitarian relief and fostering peace in Gaza. Both leaders stressed the urgency of implementing the deal and pledged continuous close coordination during this critical phase.
