Doha Hosts "Bread and Salt Between Us" International Cultural Event Celebrating Culinary Innovation
On December 21st, 2024, Doha, a proud member of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, hosted the “Bread and Salt Between Us” cultural event for the second time at Mama’s Cuisine restaurant. The event, organized by the International Cooperation and Government Affairs team of Qatar Museums, was led by Dr. Fatema Al Sulaiti.
This unique gathering brought together the talents of Chef Hessa Al Sulaiti, a renowned Qatari entrepreneur, and Mr. Donato Taronna, a celebrated Italian baker. The two culinary experts showcased traditional bread-making techniques, merging Qatari and Italian styles to create a one-of-a-kind fusion bread. This creation symbolized the shared cultural heritage and innovative spirit that the UNESCO Creative Cities Network strives to promote.
The event also highlighted the “Breads of the Creative Cities” project, a collaboration between Tucson UCC Gastronomy and the Creative Knowledge Foundation, with technology partner Koor Benefit Company. The “Bread Between Us” initiative, envisioned by the Creative Knowledge Foundation, aims to unite cultures through the art of bread-making, with support from ArchiMedia Trust and Koor Benefit Company.
