Asma Al Thani - First Arab woman to ski to both North and South Poles and climb all Seven Summits
Asma Al Thani, a revolutionary Qatari mountaineer, has made history as the first Arab woman to complete the prestigious Explorers Grand Slam, an extraordinary challenge that includes climbing the highest peak on each continent and skiing to both the North and South Poles. On October 11th, she stood atop Carstensz Pyramid, marking the final summit in her nearly decade-long journey.
Reflecting on her achievement, Al Thani shared, “This is for every young girl with big dreams—there are no limits to what we can achieve if we remain persistent and believe in ourselves.” Her journey, which began in 2014, is a testament to perseverance and the power of dreaming big.
With fewer than 75 people worldwide having completed the Grand Slam, Al Thani's achievement not only breaks barriers but inspires countless others to pursue their dreams with determination.
