Qatar launches 2025 National Sports Day Award to boost sport culture
The National Sports Day Committee (NSDC), which organises the annual National Sports Day celebrations, launched an award on Monday to honour agencies that promote sports culture among their staff members.
Abdulrahman bin Musallam Al Dosari, Advisor to the Minister of Sports and Youth, outlined the details of the 2025 National Sports Day Award.
“The award, which will target both state and private agencies, is aimed at boosting public health and sportsmanship in Qatari society. We believe this initiative will motivate different companies and departments to offer their staff a healthy and energetic work environment. The NSDC will continue with its hosting of year-round sports events, in line with the National Sports Day,” Al Dosari, who is also the NSDC Chairperson, said during a Press conference at the Lusail Sports Hall.
Al Dosari spoke about how companies and departments could participate in the competition for the awards.
“The competing agencies should upload photos and videos of their activities on their different social media channels and tag them with the hashtags #In_Time and #Sports_Is_Life. They should also mention the National Sports Day account. They are also required to fill in an event form on the Ministry of Sports and Youth website, including event details and the number of contestants,” he said.
The contesting agencies will score points according to four criteria — the number of events, event duration, number of participants, and the number of agency staffers participating in the Sports for All calendar.
