October only means one thing in our dictionary when in Qatar: it’s barbecue season! As we get comfortable with the winds getting chillier and take out those light snazzy jackets, we couldn’t help but choose our top spots for BBQ in Qatar for you!
Al Farkiah Beach

We know we’re not the only ones who are always looking for a reason to host a BBQ party and therefore, are fully aware that things can get crowded! Introducing, our little escape at Al Farkiah Beach that is 2 km away from Al Khor Mall. If your idea is to have a bit of quiet time with your family or even just have a mini BBQ escape of your own, the Al Farkiah Beach is your best deal for the most serene experience!
The beach has all facilities one would need to plan a trip including BBQ grills/stands, toilets, showers, and even a playground for the kids! It’s a fenced beach so there’s only one exit and entrance, and you’ll even find a parking space here!

One thing we love about the Dukhan beaches is that you have the options to either go to the family area or just enjoy the open space for your city escape! Dukhan is located 80 km away from Doha and gives you the perfect view for your BBQ escapades.
The family area, even though with the perfect utilities for a BBQ, comes with children-oriented areas and activities but, with rocky shores so we wouldn’t recommend going for a swim here. However, the open space is known for swimming and camping due to the clear water. The cherry on top, your BBQ can come with an experience with activities from the Dukhan Water Sports club. The Gazebo canopy tents with their BBQ facilities make this such a wholesome experience!
QL Tips: While you’re on your way to the beaches, make sure you make a pitstop at the food courts in town as the beach itself has no facilities other than parking!
French Beach

If golden, sandy beaches are your thing and you love exploring the wildlife of the sea, the French beach is a definite getaway for you. You can enjoy your BBQ with the popular golden sunsets that Qatar is known for but we would highly recommend keeping a check on water levels.
However, you will need to come fully equipped as there aren’t any amenities you will find here. So, from your grills to your chairs and umbrellas, you need to be prepared to the core with this BBQ outing!
QL Tips: As the last part of your escapade to this beach is a bit bumpy, we recommend going on a 4x4 vehicle!

We finally come to the most scenic location in our top picks for BBQ spots in Qatar. While most of our options were of beaches, we’re giving you our golden spot at camping and BBQing this season. Located in the northernmost area of Qatar near Al Shamaal, you need to gear up for this one-of-a-kind experience.
An isolated, romantic spot with picture-perfect sunsets over the sea, The Galactic Core Bay is going to pleasantly surprise your little BBQ getaway. Considered to be the ideal view for viewing the milky way in Qatar, you can BBQ under the stars in a new way! You’re going to need to pack everything as this secluded area does not have any amenities whatsoever. A fun fact about the Galactic Core is that there’s been news about ghost sightings in the area too!
QL Tips: You’re going to have a difficult time getting to the Bay so we highly recommend going on a 4x4 for this adventure!
Al Thakira Beach
Popular for kayaking and fishing, Al Thakira beach is also favourite destination for barbecues in Qatar. A 50-minute drive from Doha will get you to this tranquil beach which has also become a favourite for the QL team!
Make sure you pack everything; from the grill to the water supplies, as you make your way to our favourite BBQ spot in Qatar with views of the mangroves.
