Qatar ranks first in the world for mobile Internet speed
The year 2021 has begun with a series of highly impressive rankings for Qatar.
Following the rankings where Doha was declared the second safest country and third ‘trending destination’ in the world, the country has secured yet another noteworthy recognition.
According to the December 2020 rankings by global speed test experts, Ookla, Qatar stands at the top of the list of the world’s fastest mobile Internet networks.

The 2020 ranking also highlights Qatar's average download speed as 178.01 Mbps and an average upload speed of 29.74Mbps, while global averages stand at 47.20Mbps for download and 12.67Mbps for upload.

Other countries following Qatar include United Arab Emirates (UAE) in second place, South Korea (third), China (fourth), Australia (fifth), Kuwait (sixth), Saudi Arabia (seventh), Norway (eighth), Netherlands (ninth), and Canada (tenth).
