WATCH: QL Adventures visits MIA as it reopens to public
One of the most exciting things about the implementation of Phase 2 of the gradual easing of COVID-19 restrictions in Qatar has been the reopening of museums and heritage sites.
QL Adventures couldn't wait to visit one of their top favorite cultural spots in town and decided to make their way to the Museum of Islamic Arts (MIA).
Have you been wondering how different the experience will be as you set foot inside the magnificent museum? Take a video look at all you need to be mindful of to make the most of your visit.
All museums except the National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ) have been reopened to the public with precautionary measures. Libraries at MIA, Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art and NMoQ will remain closed until further notice.
Here's all you need to remember before you decide to head out to the reopened museums:
- Pre-book your visit. Tickets must be purchased online, in advance.
- Face masks are mandatory at all times during your visit. However, an exception applies to children under 12.
- You must take your own face mask when visiting.
- There will be a temperature check at the entrance
- You will need to show your green status on the Ehteraz app
- You will be required to present your ticket either on your mobile phone or show a printed copy of the ticket
- During your visit, be sure to adhere to social distancing guidelines
- Visitor Services staff at MIA will regulate the number of visitors in the museum and gallery spaces
- Cafés and gift shops will be open during museum hours and you can use cash or card payment options
- In terms of facilities, restrooms and ATMs will be accessible. Prayer rooms will be open too. However, the number of people that can enter at one time will be managed to ensure the safety of all.
