Dear,

I know a case where tourist visa was converted into family visit visa without exiting Qatar and then it got converted into RP by paying 500 QAR fees. Depends on Captain, if you try to use some guide, it will not be possible.

Just go with all documents and explain to Captain the situation. But before all this, ensure to have minimum salary requirement criteria to be met.

If it was only a visit visa, it cannot be transferred to resident visa. It should be a family visa so that it can be converted to resident visa. If she is on visit/tourist visa, she has to exit the country so that you can directly apply for a family resident visa for your mother.

As far as my understanding goes you can sponsor your mother if you are married. Also if you buy a property you can provide visa status to some relatives, I do not know if parents fall into this category. I would recommend you first talk to your HR department and seek help from them and if you can afford a property look into going that route and talk to a real state agent. Qatar Living can help you with that.

If you have exhausted all your efforts through the proper channels, why do you want to go through alternate routes which are very risky. You may come across "agents" who will "promise" you to get the visa, take your money and then make you run around after them with no results. There are many of such crooks running around who are out to fleece people like you. In the end you will be bad loser. Just let your mother return and then call her back after a few months.
