Within the framework of the preventive and precautionary measures taken in Qatar to contain the new coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) issues a circular regarding setting work hours for commercial and service activities to be from Sunday, May 31, 2020, from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm.

The following activities are excluded from the decision to specify working times:

- Outlets selling food products, consumer goods, and subsided supplies (hypermarkets, supermarkets, and groceries), shops selling fruits and vegetable

- Petroleum stations and car service

- Maintenance companies (electricity, plumbing, and electronic services)

- Companies delivering order through electronic apps

- Logistics services companies and freight firms operating in ports, airports, and customs services

- Car maintenance workshops affiliated with agencies

- Pharmacies

- Telecommunications companies

- Companies operating in the hospitality sector

- Factories

- Bakeries

- Restaurants, cafeterias, cafes (coffee shops), that can deliver or handover orders to customers outside the business place. However, restaurants and cafes located in malls are exempted from this decision and are only allowed to process delivery orders. These outlets are prohibited from handling over orders to customers both inside and outside the premises.

According to Circular No. 16, regarding the cessation of all commercial activities in stores and offices on Fridays and Saturdays remains valid, and the activities specified previously are excepted from this decision.

The decision to close retail outlets in malls and shopping centers remains valid, except for outlets selling food products and pharmacies.

All companies and retail outlets must comply with the decisions issued by the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour, and Social Affairs and the Ministry of Public Health in this regard.

Any violation of this decision provisions will subject perpetrators to legal accountability.

Individuals who display symptoms of COVID-19 should either quickly contact the 16000 helplines or go directly to one of the designated health centers for testing. This is important to ensure early detection and appropriate treatment and care.

Here's everything you need to know about the virus, including ways to protect yourself.

This is good. Businesses can continue to operate. Go to work and then stay home.
