Sponsorship Transfer and NOC
By Abdul.hussain •
Hello All,
I had joined Qatar Airways almost 2 months ago. Unfortunately due to the ongoing situation, I was made redundant yesterday along with many others.
My question is, I was still under probation period and i have not been given any notice period but i will be getting 7 days salary in lieu of notice period as per the contract. How long can i stay here to look for another job? Can i transfer my sponsorship in this situation? What will be the process? I am new to all of this so i don't really have a clue.
P. S. The flights are also not operating back to my home country so they cannot send me back right now.
Thanks
Since you were in your probation period, there isnt much that you can claim from the company. What you can do is to have a chat with your HR team, to see your options - how are they planning to send you back if you were hired on overseas contract under the current situation. Or is there a possibility to get NOC & look for another job or even a possibility to rejoin (provided termination was not due to performance issues) back once the current situation is back to normal.
Goodlittleboy appreciate your conment and your views but it still hurts as i had worked so hard to get here and everything just went away in a moment
So it hurts a little as i am thinking about it and still cannot get over it.
Abdul hussain: Please do not get carried over by the comments from Molten Metal. You are new to Qatar Living and do not know this woman. She loves to give "philosophical views" on queries, loves to misguide people, make false promises, give false hopes etc., and this has been going on for several years now.
The situation under which you were terminated is not normal. The coronavirus pandemic has affected companies the world over and not just Qatar. You people at Qatar Airways are not the only sufferers. In my country daily wage earners have been badly affected. Think of them how they are managing to survive. Many airlines are going through a very difficult phase nowadays with some of them may even close down permanently. In such situations, all companies take steps to save the company from collapsing. Qatar Airway is no different.
Just keep you head and spirits up. Hope and pray for the best.
I don't think of it as a star company after what they did to more than 1000 employees in the last two weeks, making them redundant without giving any notice.
Abdul , You are lucky by being with QA ...... A star company ....... many people dream even when they are awake to work in QA ........ So just pray hard .... as things will improve very soon ........ Insha Allah ..... Wed 01.04.2020 06.49 hrs
